The finest bespoke men’s shoes with quality craftsmanship, and the widest range of styles, Diamond Walker from Seoul, South Korea, makes its debut in Singapore with the official opening of its first independent boutique at China Square Central this October.
Specially crafted by the creative genius behind Korea’s undisputed best men’s shoe designs, Oh Deock Jin, and backed by a rich shoemaking heritage spanning three generations of craftsmen, Diamond Walker shoes have become the favourite of famous Korean stars like Rain, Super Junior, and many other K-POP celebrities, actors and entertainment celebrities like Cha Tae Hyun, Lee Sung Jae, Jang Hyuk and Lee Min Ho.
Oh’s frequent collaboration with leading Korean fashion designers like Choi Chulyoung (CY Choi), Hyun Yeu (Ado Les Scents), Choi Bumsuk (General Idea) and Go Taeyong (Beyond Closet) has seen his shoes gracing the catwalks of New York Fashion Week in 2012, in Milan, Paris and numerous Seoul Fashion Week events.
“The Diamond Walker brand is introducing an unprecedented range of shoe styles, far beyond other bespoke men’s shoemakers from Europe and America. The experimental bold and fashion forward styles that make South Korea one of the fashion powerhouses of Asia, is embodied in our Diamond Walker shoes. This – we hope – will bring a breath of fresh air to the otherwise dowdy bespoke shoe industry that usually only focuses on the formal dress shoe styles and common colours. Since our introduction in June – a surprising amount of customers are women, attracted by our bold boots, brogues and monkstrap designs which can be made in their sizes and customized with more feminine colours, laces and straps”.
- CEO Victor Lee
Diamond Walker’s handmade footwear offers dress shoes encompassing the classic oxfords, brogues, derby and monks; semi-formal versions of the classics that incorporate interesting colours, different leather types and heels as well as casual shoes which include loafers, moccasins, sandals, hiking boots, Chelsea boots and pop fashion boots. Women’s versions are also available upon request.
What’s really unique is that all the shoes are designed and hand crafted in Korea, after the customers’ feet have been carefully measured and fitted as well as custom options noted. It takes an average of six weeks for the customised shoes to be crafted and delivered to anywhere in the world.
Hosted by Singapore Media Personality, Randall Tan, the official opening event saw the introduction of the new VA (Vintage Avant-garde) collection which will be sold exclusively at Atelier Pour Homme by December. Other local celebrities like Jonathan Leong, Melody Chen, Carl Ng and Mark Van Cuylenburg aka “The Flying Dutchman” were spotted as invited guests.
The Diamond Walker showroom is at China Square Central (18 Cross Street #01-06, Singapore 048423), right in the Central Business District of Singapore.
Diamond Walker shoes are also stocked at Atelier Pour Homme, (currently relocating to a bigger unit at The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands (formerly in unit #01-18,) For more information check out their website www.diamond-walker.com
